About Our Program

The New and Occasional Weavers (NOW) Online Seminar is an entry point for those with a beginner's interest or past weaving skills. As you consider this program, we ask prospective members to have access to a working loom and the time to learn about weaving. Our goal for this Seminar is to provide a foundational education for early weavers or those who are restarting their journey.


The NOW Seminar is designed as a learning community and includes online meetings, demonstrations, handouts, and opportunities to connect with a cohort of similarly experienced weavers. We present topic discussions, skills practice, and resources to help weavers build a strong base of weaving knowledge and progress through a planned curriculum.

Curriculum and Calendar 2026-2027
Beginning February 7, 2026

The NOW Online Seminar is a programmatic training course meeting once a month. The program, a progressive cycle of topics, incorporates weaving structures and weaving proficiency. We start with the informative Plain Weave patterns, then move to the next stage, Float Weave patterns, and lastly explore the Element Weave Patterns. In a two-year schedule, there are seasonal breaks that coincide with the curriculum; our calendar accommodates registration and payment options.


 We meet on the first Saturday of the listed months.
 11:00 am - 1:00 pm ET
 During Labor Day Weekends, we meet on the second Saturdays.
